KSh 7,500/year
Third-Party Only (TPO) motor insurance in Kenya costs from KSh 7,500 per year for a private car and is the minimum cover required by law. It pays for injury, death, or property damage you cause to other people — but not damage to your own vehicle. Vike issues a DMVIC-compliant cover note within minutes of payment, online or over WhatsApp.
Third-Party Only (TPO) is the minimum motor insurance every vehicle on a Kenyan road must carry under the Insurance (Motor Vehicles Third Party Risks) Act. It covers your legal liability for bodily injury, death, and property damage you cause to other people — pedestrians, passengers in other vehicles, and other road users. It does not cover damage to your own vehicle, theft, or fire; for those you would step up to Third-Party Fire & Theft (TPFT) or Comprehensive cover.
TPO is the most affordable way to drive legally. For a private car, annual TPO from Vike starts at KSh 7,500. Commercial vehicles are rated by tonnage (typically KSh 5,500 to KSh 16,000 a year), and motorcycle and PSV TPO are priced by class and use. Whatever the vehicle, we issue a DMVIC-compliant cover note within minutes of payment so you can be on the road the same day — pay and onboard entirely online or over WhatsApp.

Third-party only cover for personal sedans, hatchbacks, SUVs, and station wagons. From KSh 7,500 per year.
For vans, pickups, and lorries. Rated by tonnage — typically KSh 5,500 to KSh 16,000 a year depending on weight class.
Third-party cover for motorcycles, including fare-carrying boda bodas that need passenger legal liability. Priced by use.
Statutory third-party cover for public service vehicles, with the passenger legal liability the class requires.
Third-party bodily injury is legally unlimited in Kenya. Your TPO policy handles the injury claim and any associated legal costs, subject to the policy terms — protecting you from a potentially ruinous personal liability.
TPO pays for the damage to the other vehicle up to the property-damage limit. Damage to your own car is not covered under TPO — that would require Comprehensive cover.
TPO does not cover theft or fire to your own vehicle. If those risks matter to you, TPFT adds them; Comprehensive adds accidental own-damage on top. We will compare the premium step-up so you can decide.
